Year of issue 2011
Date of issue 2011.03.25

Today the Bundesnetzagentur published a scientific report on frequency allotment viewed from a technical and economic perspective. The report titled "Frequenzverteilungsuntersuchung der möglichen Flexibilisierung im 900 /1800-MHz-Band" (Frequency Allotment Study on Possible Flexibilisation in the 900/1800 MHz Band) was compiled by the Institute of Telecommunications at Vienna University of Technology and SBR Juconomy Consulting AG/SBR Attorneys-at-Law under the guidance of Univ. Prof. Dr. Ing. Christoph F. Mecklenbräuker.

In December 2009 the EU Commission had asked the Bundesnetzagentur to study frequency allotments after the spring 2010 frequency auction. As part of this study the Bundesnetzagentur commissioned the expertise targeting economic and technical issues of existing frequency allotments.

The expertise will be presented and explained to summoned interested parties and the public on 4 April 2011 in an open session of the President's chamber.

The expertise can be downloaded from the Bundesnetzagentur's web site.
