On the one hand, the Federal Network Agency is itself a member of several European and international organizations (section 140 sentence 2 TKG). On the other, it is commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) to cooperate on numerous European and international organizations and their technical committees (section 140 sentence 1 TKG). In the fields of telecommunications and energy, cooperation with primarily European regulatory authorities and the European Commission, as well as with supranational bodies and organizations, is centrally controlled by the staff unit "International Coordination". In the fields of posts and railways, this task is the responsibility of the relevant departments and technical units.
