Datenaustausch und Monitoring

The Bundesnetzagentur's monitoring tasks are set out in section 35 of the Energy Act (EnWG). As part of its activities the Bundesnetzagentur conducts an annual survey of companies in the energy market.

Under section 63(3) of the Energy Act the Bundesnetzagentur is required to publish a report annually on the results of its monitoring activities, conducted in the performance of its regulatory tasks in the electricity and gas sectors, most notably to create transparency in the markets.

The Bundesnetzagentur works together with the Bundeskartellamt in drawing up the report.

The report for 2017 and the reports for the previous years are available below:

Core energy market data register

On the following pages you can also find information about the core energy market data register.

The core energy market data register will build up a comprehensive, official register of the electricity and gas market for use by the authorities and participants in the energy (electricity and gas) market. Being able to access the core data of the core energy market data register will significantly improve data quality and simplify many energy-related processes. A central registration process will harmonise or simplify many official registration requirements or enable them to be done away with completely.
