Summary of 2016`s report to determine the cost of capital for railway infrastructure companies under the special conditions of the German railway sector - Update 2016

As part of the current regulatory process in the railway sector, the costs of capital have to be determined since these are a component of an infrastructure manager’s costs. In order to determine the costs of capital, the Bundesnetzagentur commissioned a consortium comprised of Frontier Economics and the IGES Institut GmbH to conduct a study sector – The survey on the determination of costs of capital in the German railway infrastructure sector – to identify a consistent procedure for determining the costs of capital in the infrastructure.
