Sector dialogue on the possible use of a Dynamic Spectrum Access Coordination Function in the 6 GHz band

Together with the Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and State Modernisation (BMDS), the Bundesnetzagentur will host a sector dialogue on the possible use of a Dynamic Spectrum Access Coordination Function (DSACF) for non-prioritised WLAN use in the 6 GHz band.

The event will take place online (Webex meeting) from 10.00am to 12.00pm on 21 September 2026.

The background to the exchange is the ongoing work at European level within the CEPT, especially in the working group FM61, on the future use of the 6 GHz band for WAS/RLAN. The focus is on the issue of the technical and regulatory framework conditions under which a DSACF could potentially be introduced in future.

In the sector dialogue, the Bundesnetzagentur plans to present the topic, give an overview of the progress made in work at the European level thus far, and discuss potential opportunities, requirements and challenges of a future implementation with relevant stakeholders.

The event is intended to be an initial expert exchange of views, creating a basis for further discussion, including different perspectives at an early stage and highlighting opportunities to participate in the ongoing process.

Companies, associations, research institutions and other interested stakeholders are warmly invited to participate in the sector dialogue.

Registration via Email: 221.Postfach@bnetza.de

The details for the Webex meeting will be sent out to registered participants in good time before the event.
