June auction for roof-mounted solar installations again undersubscribed despite considerable increase in bid volume

The Bundesnetzagentur has today published the results of the auction for solar installations on buildings and noise barriers that closed for bids on 1 June 2026.
The auction was for a volume of 296 megawatts (MW). A total of 125 bids with a combined volume of 238 MW were submitted. Compared with the previous round in February 2026 with a bid volume of 177 MW, the volume of the bids submitted was much larger, but the auction round was again undersubscribed. The Bundesnetzagentur disqualified 17 bids from the auction. A total of 108 bids with a combined volume of 209 MW were admitted to the auction and accepted.
The prices of the successful bids in the pay-as-bid auction ranged from 8.40 cents per kilowatt hour (ct/kWh) to 10 ct/kWh. The volume-weighted average award price was 9.72 ct/kWh, which was higher than that in the previous round (9.56 ct/kWh) and only just below the maximum permissible price.
The federal state with the most successful bids was North Rhine-Westphalia (49 MW, 21 winning bids), followed by Lower Saxony (36 MW, 19 winning bids), Baden-Württemberg (22 MW, 13 winning bids), Bavaria (21 MW, 11 winning bids) and Hesse (20 MW, 10 winning bids).
