Bundesnetzagentur publishes map on the quality of supply of DSOs in Germany

Year of issue 2026
Date of issue 2026.07.22

The Bundesnetzagentur has today published a map showing the quality of supply of distribution system operators (DSOs) in Germany.

With the quality of supply map we are providing transparency regarding the reliability and ability to perform, ie the DSOs’ energy transition competence and the progress they have made with digitalisation. By doing this, we are creating incentives for improvements,” says Klaus Müller, President of the Bundesnetzagentur.

The map contains the key figures on the quality of supply, showing how quickly and comprehensively electricity DSOs are realising the energy transition and how consistently they are adopting digital solutions. For example, the map can be used to see how long a network operator takes on average to establish grid connections, which network operation areas have been digitalised, or how many minutes a final customer in a network area was affected by supply interruptions on average.

The map will be continuously developed. The key figures currently refer to the year 2024 and will be updated annually based on data collected as part of quality regulation.

The Bundesnetzagentur aims to create incentives for improved performance by the network operators. The map increases transparency and makes the progress in implementation of the energy transition visible to the industry, consumers and regulatory authorities.

The map can be accessed at www.bundesnetzagentur.de/gbk-aktuell.
